About Hundred Islands Pearls

My beautiful mother inspired me to create my company. She was a patient, spiritual person who always took the time to help others.  She was loved by many for her generosity and kindness, but  it was her quiet strength that I admired the most.

I believe my mother’s strength came from the incredible courage and resilience she developed while she endured the terrifying years of WWII, when the Japanese Imperial army invaded and occupied the Philippines. Later as a young woman, she immigrated to the US and, at the time, was among the few Filipinas who attended college. Thereafter, she married and started her own family in New York where I was born and raised. She was the glue of our family, as a mother and grandmother, and I am so grateful for the support and constant selfless love she gave all of us.

During my childhood, my family and I often traveled to the Philippines and visited my mother’s home province of Pangasinan, and enjoyed swimming and boating in the waters of the beautiful Hundred Islands.

During a family vacation to the Philippines in 2016, we visited many special places including the Hundred Islands and I saw the most exquisite pearls of all colors and sizes. I was amazed at how each pearl was unique and magnificent and they reminded of the special pearls my mother gave me over the years. Pearls became a passion of mine. In 2017, I began importing them from the Philippines to create unique jewelry pieces and founded my own company. Honoring my mother and Filipino heritage, I named my company after the stunning Hundred Islands.

In the last two years, my collection has grown to include pearls from all over the Asia Pacific region. I hand-select each pearl and combine them with gemstones to create elegant, modern designs.  From Freshwater to Tahitian to South Sea and Akoya pearls, I carry only the highest quality pearls. Elegant in their simplicity, they are beautiful gifts for either a loved one or for yourself!
